This was our first time for working with a contractor, and doing a somewhat major project. This is the 4th project that Christie and Custom Designs has done for me. Doesn't that say it all? This time, it is a kitchen remodel where we gutted the old original kitchen that was about 19 years old and put in a new one. Knotty alder cabinets, quartz countertops, ss appliances and sink, with tile flooring and backsplash. Christie's eye for design and color has always assured me that the project will turn out fantastic. They wrap the projects, helping keep down the dust and traffic in the house. The bids are accurate and the timing is always on target. In the fall of 2013 we decided to have our kitchen remodeled. We had received two estimates, one very high, and another unrealistically low. While we were at a local granite supplier looking at granite choices the granite supplier recommended Christine Smith of Designs By Christine and her husband Larry Smith of Custom Design Construction. We contacted Christine Smith and she designed a kitchen layout to our wants and provided working drawings that we could have her husband Larry work off of or we could take anywhere else if we wanted. The plans were similar to the other plans we had received, but had much nicer details than the others. Many small things that made real nice design improvements. Things like offsetting a cabinet here or there, adding a piece of molding, or a trim panel on the side of the refrigerator. Doesn't sound like much until you see it on the 3-D plans, or in the completed kitchen, but it made a big difference in appearance with minimal difference in cost. We decided to have Larry's company Custom Design Construction do the kitchen remodel. They provided us with a complete construction schedule and time line estimate and stuck to it for the most part. There were a few small delays here or there but we were kept informed of the status throughout the job. All of Larry's employees and subcontractors were very professional and were a pleasure to have in out house during the job. This was a floor to ceiling remodel that took about one and a half months from start to finish. We went from a dated 1990's golden oak kitchen to a new timeless and functional show kitchen. Everyone we have shown it to just raves about it and many have asked who did the job. We gladly tell them about Christine and Larry and highly recommend them.
