OLD YOSEMITE ROAD

These pictures were taken before the homeowners moved into the home so some aspects were not finished or decorated when they were taken such as the buffet area and the matching bench seating area in the dining room.  We worked with a local builder on this project and I was involved in all  the interior specifications for this job.  We supplied the cabinets, countertops and tile work for this job as well through our company Custom Design Construction.  It is a beautiful traditional home with a warm and inviting feeling, the kitchen is very functional for a large family.

I really enjoyed this remodel project, we worked with a local contractor on the project but I consulted on all the materials and our company supplied and installed most of the products shown in the photos.  I like the richness of this kitchen, the dark woods are fun to work with but they are also a challenge to find the right combination of lighter accent materials and proper lighting to balance the space.  The other challenge was that this was a standard height ceiling so I created the illusion of more height by taking the cabinetry all the way to the ceiling and used taller elements for balance.  The accent on the backsplash at the cooktop brings the whole room together blending both the dark and light elements.  One important note, I would not recommend the laminate flooring by BHK that is shown in these photos, we have had several problems with this product.
